Ah, spammers. The scum-sucking bottom dwellers of the information age. God love em. Or not.
The way Google works is that the more links a page or site has from other sites, the higher its rank will be in the list of returned pages. Thus, spammers will post comments on unsuspecting blogs with links to their sites to try and improve their ranking.
But this site is “moderated” (by moi, of course), so I get an email telling me when a comment has been submitted. So naturally I tag them as spam spam spam spam spam and into the bit bucket they go.
But it’s really funny to read them just the same. You know they are using “robots” or automatic programs to post this dreck.
The tell-tale signature is that the comments are completely random, non-specific and have absolutely nothing to say about the blog or post they are commenting on.
